Welcome to the Ridge! I am so excited to be joining the students, families, and staff at Hickory Ridge Elementary. I’m originally from New York, obtaining my Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John Fisher College. My family and I relocated to North Carolina in 2013 where I started my journey in public education. I obtained my Masters Degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University while I started my teaching career in Craven County. I was a special education teacher for several years before transitioning into general education. Finding my passion as an advocate for students and families, I decided to go back to school for School Administration through Western Carolina University. Most recently in 2021, I began my journey in school administration as the assistant principal in Craven County. As I join Cabarrus County Schools, I am honored to join the Harrisburg community as a Cowboy at Hickory Ridge Elementary! Let’s shine brighter together!

Welcome! I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Principal at Hickory Ridge Elementary starting in October 2023. I have been a public educator in Cabarrus County Schools since 2011. I have spent most of my career serving the Wolf Meadow Elementary community as a classroom teacher (2^nd and 3^rd grade), lead teacher, and school administrator. I received a bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a minor in Sociology and my master’s in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Go Niners! I completed my administrative internship at Concord Middle in 2017. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, fur babies and extended family. I was raised in Raleigh, NC and am an avid Duke Blue Devil fan! You can often find me spending time with friends, reading a book, or relaxing at a beach, lake or pool. I look forward to spending the rest of this school year and into the future serving alongside you as a passionate member of The Ridge! Yeehaw!

Welcome to The Hickory Ridge Family! I am delighted to be part of the amazing Hickory Ridge Elementary community as an Assistant Principal. I was an Instructional Leader in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for eight years and started my educational career in Charlotte-Mecklenburg as an elementary classroom teacher over 18 years ago. I received a bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a minor in English from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and my master’s in Reading as well as School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, teenage daughter, teenage son, and our two dogs. I was raised in Brooklyn, New York and love a good slice of New York cheesecake or pizza! You can find me spending time in my garden, reading, or writing- as I am an avid writer. I look forward to spending this school year, and future years, among the Harrisburg Community on the Ridge. Let’s take on the world, Cowboys!
