For sure! Providing descriptive alt text is a great move for accessibility. Since screen readers need to convey both the spirit of the event and the specific text shown, here is a comprehensive version you can use: Alt Text: A vibrant, Western-themed cartoon graphic titled "Buckaroo Bargain." The image features two smiling children—a Latino boy on the left holding a "Buckaroo" dollar bill and an African American girl on the right holding a can of food. They are standing behind a wooden crate filled with various donation items including peanut butter, grape jelly, canned fruits, vegetables, and hygiene products like shampoo and toothbrushes. The background is a desert sunset with cacti. At the bottom, wooden banners read: "Hickory Ridge Elementary. Round Up 7,000 Items for the Harrisburg Food Pantry!" Gold star coins are scattered around the bottom corners.
Get ready to round up some generosity! Hickory Ridge Elementary is kicking off a fun service-learning event to benefit the
Harrisburg Food Pantry.
From April 13th to April 21st, we are asking all Hickory Ridge students to bring in canned goods and essential items to support families in our community. Our grand goal is to collect 7,000 items, which will provide a great deal of what the pantry needs to support those in need!
Hard work pays off!! For every single item donated, your student will earn one "Buckaroo." They can spend their hard-earned Buckaroos at our special “Buckaroo Bargain” School Store event during the school day on Tuesday, April 28th.
Most Wanted Donation Items:
  • Pantry Staples: Canned proteins (tuna, chicken), peanut butter, grape jelly, canned soups/stews, canned fruits, and vegetables.
  • Dry Goods: Pasta, rice, grits, oatmeal, and instant mashed potatoes.
  • Hygiene Products: Shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.
More information will be coming your way  as we get closer to the event.
Thank you for supporting our community!
